1. Who we are

Digischool is a communication platform that schools use to share their pupils' school day with parents and students: updates, homework, schedules, attendance, marks, online quizzes and messages with teachers. Each school controls its own data; Digischool processes that data on the school's behalf to provide the service.

2. Accounts

There is no public sign-up. Accounts for parents, teachers and students are created by the school, which invites each person by email.

3. Data we process

• Account data: name, email address, phone number (optional), preferred language, role and school.
• Student data entered by the school: name, student code, date of birth (optional), class, timetable, attendance, behaviour points, marks and teacher notes, photo-consent preference.
• Content: posts, photos and videos shared by teachers (only of students whose parents allowed photos), messages between parents and teachers, and students' quiz and assignment answers.
• Activity: which updates were delivered, seen or acknowledged, and sign-in times.
• Device data: a push-notification token for your device, to send you notifications.

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers or payment details, and the app contains no ads.

4. How we use it

Only to provide the service to the school and its families: showing the right information to the right people, sending notifications, grading quizzes, and keeping the service secure. We do not sell data or use it for advertising or profiling.

5. Who can see it

• Parents see information about their own children only; students see their own information.
• Teachers see the classes they teach; school administrators see their own school.
• Each school's data is kept separate from every other school's.
• Service providers that host the service for us: the hosting and database provider, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. They process data only on our instructions.

6. Children

Student accounts are created by the school, which is responsible for obtaining parental consent where required. Students cannot send private messages, and photos of students whose parents have not given consent are flagged to teachers.

7. Security and retention

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored as salted hashes, and sessions expire automatically. Data is kept while the school uses Digischool; the school can archive or remove students and accounts at any time.

8. Your choices

You can change your name, phone and language in the app, and you can delete your account from Settings → Delete my account (see how account deletion works). For access to or correction of your child's school records, contact the school.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
